Dunga, Kenya

Hello Everyone,

Sorry we have been slacking... but the internet in Kenya is VERY slow, so we have not been able to upload any pictures or even log on to the blog. We have been traveling around Kisumu and Dunga for the past week and are really enjoying it! We spent two nights in the hill villages surrounding Kisumu visiting some of Susie's host family. We have had some interesting experiences, we've seen SO many things, six people diagnosed with HIV/AID in a matter of hours at a small clinic, a woman sitting next to us on a bus had a seizure, we saw a baby goat born in front of our house in Dunga, hippos in the lake next to our house, and last night a bat came into the house while we were watching a movie. All in all we have been enjoying our new experiences and we are very excited to start working full time tomorrow. We love you all and hope you are ALL doing well.

Nairobi, Kenya

We have been in Nairobi, Kenya now for 2 days and have been doing well. We are with are friend Susie Marks who has been to Kenya many times... so we are having a good time and meeting all of her Kenyan friends. (VERY NICE PEOPLE) Today we went to a large slum where Susie works for the Hamomi Center, we walked around and met the people there. We feel very safe here! We are planning on staying about one week here and hopfully helping at Hamomi, then heading North to Kisumu... then to Dunga where we will be volunteering for 6 months. We love you ALL!!!

p.s. we will try and upload pictures in a few days.... but the internet isn't very fast.
